Children's Theatre Workshop

TTW thanks all of its students, parents, friends and family who made its three-week Children’s Theatre Workshop Camp a tremendous success!

CTW returns in September as a weekly, three-month programme that will teach children the basic performing and technical skills of theatre. In addition to the disciplines of acting, singing and dancing, children will explore the fundamentals of technical theatre and related disciplines such as theatrical make-up application and costume design. The session runs on Saturday mornings from September 15, 2007 to mid-December and culminates in an end-of-year presentation for friends and parents.

At TTW’s Children’s Theatre Workshop we want to help children ages 8-12 develop their imaginations, voices and bodies by teaching theatre skills that help them grow as performers and as people. Out of our commitment to providing training to future theatre professionals, we see our children’s workshop as one of our most vital projects. Countless research has proven the immense value of an Arts education at an early age. We believe that in exposing children to the Arts we are making an investment in the next generation of actors, playwrights and technical theatre personnel. At Children’s Theatre Workshop we understand that no two children are alike. While some may be drawn to the spotlight, others might want to learn how to create one. Although every child will receive core training in acting techniques, we recognise our students’ diversity by giving them options that suit their own personalities.

We welcome applications from children ages 8 – 12 who have a serious interest in the performing arts. We are a workshop committed to education and training. While students will have fun, their primary objective should be to gain and improve upon theatre skills.
